Release Major Advising Hold:

Majors will have a registration hold, requiring advising before you can register. Minors are not required to be advised in the minor, but I’m happy to meet with any of you.

Advising appointments are valuable for course planning, but also to discuss your overall experiences at Stan State, and to plan for post-graduation goals (work, grad school, etc).

While we're unable to hold in-person advising, we are available with flexible appointments via Zoom, phone or email. The Fall schedule of course offerings will be published on April 10th by 5 pm and registration for the fall term begins on May 1, so we should schedule appointments before then. I encourage you to set appointments from 30-60 minutes – whatever you think is useful. By default, appointments are for 30 minutes, so if you want more time, schedule back-to-back time blocks. We can also be available in the evenings and on weekends if that’s helpful. You can schedule your appointment with Dr. T. Theo Cotten, Director of Gender Studies, at Calendar | Navigate or Outlook Calendar. Or send an email to tcotten@csustan.edu, or trystancotten@gmail.com, with a range of days/times of your availability and I’ll get back to you. You can also make an advising appointment with Dr. Eudey via Warrior Connect or via email at beudey@csustan.edu

Release Major Advising Hold: Major advising instructions for music are as follows:

  1. Contact your music advisor (as listed in our provided Advising Assignments for that semester) via email or using a provided Bookings link to schedule an advising session.
  2. Prior to your advising session:
Fill and submit the Advising Approval Web Form.

     i. You are “Participant 1” and your advisor is “Participant 2” (you will need to enter their name and email address). DO NOT enter yourself as Participant 2, as this will prompt you to sign in the advisor’s place.

ii. After submitting the form, you’ll receive an unsigned copy via email confirming that your Advising Approval Form has been forwarded to your advisor for their signature, which will be obtained during/following your advising session.

iii. The Advising Approval Web Form may require you verify your email address after submission. If you do so and a prompt appears telling you it was already verified, no further action is needed.

  3. Following your advising session, you’ll receive a signed copy of your Advising Approval Web Form with a note from Mx. Woodall confirming that your advising hold was released.

If you need assistance with any of these steps please reach out to Mx. Woodall (jwoodall@csustan.edu).
