Cal State Apply Application Checklist

Thorough and accurate completion of the application will expedite initial admission processing. When you’re ready to complete your application, be sure you have these items on hand:

Freshmen:

  • Unofficial transcripts: You’ll be asked to enter all courses you’ve completed, those currently in progress, and any you plan to take
  • Test scores (SAT, ACT, AP or IB)
  • Your Social Security number, if you have one
  • Your and your parent’s Citizenship Status, for tuition purposes
  • Credit card: Application fees are due at time of submission if not eligible for a fee waiver
  • Annual income: Your parents if you are a dependent, your income if you are independent
  • Your parent’s employment background and two recommendations, applies only if you’re applying to EOP

 

Transfers:

  • Unofficial transcripts: You’ll be asked to enter all courses you’ve completed, those currently in progress, and any you plan to take
  • Your Social Security number, if you have one
  • Your Citizenship Status, for tuition purposes
  • Credit card: Application fees are due at time of submission
  • Annual income: Your parents if you are a dependent, your income if you are independent
  • CCCID and Campus ID: Required for ADT applicants from a California community college. These numbers should be printed on your transcript

Please note, Stanislaus State Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) does not have the capacity to accept transfers.

Stanislaus State reserves the right to withdraw your admission for not accurately reporting your performance on the online application or if you do not retain eligibility upon submitting final transcripts.

Students who are not registered on the Enrollment Census Date for the term admitted for will not be considered a continuing student and will be required to submit a new admission application for their intended term of attendance.

Check Application Status

A confirmation letter will be mailed to you 2-3 weeks after submission, along with instructions to create one password to access myCSUSTAN (your student portal) and Stanislaus State email account. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of their admission application through myCSUSTAN and their university e-mail. Please note these are two different accounts with the same username and password.

Schools subscribing to Parchment or SPEEDE may submit transcripts electronically.

Freshmen:
We make preliminary offers of admission to first-time freshman applicants whose high school GPA (based on “a-g” college preparatory courses) is 3.00 and above based on the information provided on the application. For applicants with a GPA lower than 3.00, test scores are required. Applicants for whom a decision cannot be made for any reason will be required to submit transcripts and will be noted on myCSUSTAN. An email will be sent if this is the case. 

Only if requested, submit documents listed in your myCSUSTAN "To Do list". If accepted to the university, send final official transcripts showing the date of high school graduation by the specified deadline. Test scores should be sent electronically from either the American College Test (ACT) or the College Board (for SAT) no later than the specified deadline.

Transfers:
We make preliminary offers of admission to transfer applicants based on information provided on the application and submitted transcripts. Transfer applicants must submit official transcripts from each college and university attended. If accepted to the university, send final official transcripts by the specified deadline.

Test scores or other external credit must be sent directly from the issuing agency (ie: College Board, CLEP, military credit, etc) by the specified deadline.

Upon receipt of all required documents, it will take approximately 4-8 weeks for a decision to be made. The admission decision will be recorded in myCSUSTAN and a letter mailed. On occasion, it may be determined that additional information is needed to complete an evaluation. If additional information is requested, it will be indicated on your myCSUSTAN account with a due date.

*Requirement Substitution for Students with Disabilities All applicants are encouraged to complete admission requirements. If you are unable to complete certain subjects because of a disability, you should contact Disability Resource Services at (209) 667-3159 to receive further information about your eligibility to attend the University.

Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships

File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid or your California Dream Act– the priority filing period is October 1 - March 2. File your GPA verification form with the California Student Aid Commission by March 2. Visit your student center and the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office for more information.
