Student To-Do List
Check these items off your to-do list before Move-In Day!
Bringing a car with you? Purchase a parking permit on MyCampusPermit.com.
The back-half of Lot 7, right next to Housing, is an Economy Lot. Economy permits go fast because they save students over $100 per semester! For more information about permit types and rates, visit the UPD Parking Gateway.
Permits are mailed to the address provided at the time of purchase, so enter your on-campus address if you purchase within a week or two of moving in.
You'll need your Warrior ID to access your Meal Plan and numerous campus services. Your first Warrior ID is free! Pick up your Warrior ID at NSAR or NSO on the second floor of the library, at the OIT Help Desk.
If you're attending virtual NSAR or NSO, use the virtual Photo Submission Tool to upload your ID photo. Then, visit the OIT Help Desk on Move-In Day to pick up your card.
Letters and non-packages will be delivered to your unit's mailbox, located on the back of the Housing Office. Packages are delivered to the university mailroom then the Housing Office, where they will be safely stored until pick-up.

Settling In
Once the chaos of Move-In Day is over, it's time to get settled and learn the community.
To prevent pedestrian accidents in higher-populated areas, DISMOUNT ZONES have been established on campus, and marked with the logo below where personal transportation devices should be walked, and not ridden. This program applies to visitors, and all members of the Stan State campus community. Medically prescribed mobility devices for persons with disabilities are not prohibited by this program.
All areas inside Housing gates are considered a Dismount Zone. Please walk your wheels once you enter the community.
The OIT Help Desk, located on the second floor of the library, can troubleshoot any connectivity problems or explain how to connect. You can also call them at (209) 667-3687.
- All rooms are equipped with WiFi internet access through the eduroam network
- Certain smart devices, such as Alexa or Echo, need OIT assistance to connect
- Bedrooms also have hardwire connections for televisions, desktops, consoles, or other devices
Learn more about connecting devices on OIT’s website: www.csustan.edu/oit/services-students
Your Meal Plan is active starting on Move-In Day. Meal plans are automatically loaded to your Warrior ID Card each semester. Swipe your Warrior ID at any on-campus dining location to utilize your funds.
Visit the Meal Plan Options page or the Dine on Campus website for full details.
Do not dispose of your trash and recycling bags in the community trash cans. Please dump your items in one of the three dumpsters or recycling cage, and do not leave bags or receptacles in the hallway outside your unit.
Dumpsters are located:
- In the Village 1 Circle
- Outside the Housing Office
- Behind the Village Cafe
The recycling chute is located in Village 2.
- We collect aluminum, plastic, or glass recycling
- Empty and clean out food or drink containers before disposing
On Move-In Day, look for "Cardboard Recycling" signs around the community for places to leave your moving boxes. After Move-In Day, boxes can be broken down and left next to the dumpster for collection.
Your move to campus may be the first time you’ve ever had to share a bedroom or living space with others. We recommend connecting with your roommates prior to move-in, if possible.
How to Message Your Roommates
- Login to the Housing Portal
- Go to the Application Status page of your housing application
- At the bottom of the page, your roommates will be listed
- Select "Message" to send them a DM
- Find your messages and replies in the Messages section of the Housing Portal
Recommended Discussion Topics
- Move-in dates and times
- Move-in groceries (cases of water, toilet paper, paper towels, etc)
- Will you share items for the bedroom and/or unit?
- Examples: mini-fridge, appliances, television, cleaning supplies, storage, dishware, and decorations
- Remember, shared bedrooms (Doubles and Triples) can only have one mini-fridge, smaller than 3 cubic feet
Sharing a Bedroom?
Identify your specific roommates by finding the matching letters in your unit number. For example, residents in 330A1 and 330A2 share a bedroom. Beds in shared bedrooms are not pre-assigned, so you will be responsible for communicating your preference with your roommate(s).
Your Roommate Agreement
Within the first few weeks of moving in, roommates should plan a time to meet and discuss their Roommate Agreement. Your RA can assist with this conversation and offer advice on helpful topics and rules.
Compromise is a crucial piece of living with roommates. It is important to have an honest conversation about things in which you may need to compromise, such as room temperature, common area chores, cleaning schedule, noise levels, and having visitors.
For non-emergency maintenance, such as a beeping smoke detector or flickering light, file a work order inside the Housing Portal. Work orders are typically fulfilled within 24 business hours.
To Submit a Work Order:
- Login to the Housing Portal
- Select the "Maintenance" tab
- Select "New Job" and include detailed information about the problem, your contact information, and a 2-hour timeframe between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
If you have a clogged toilet or emergency maintenance, call (209) 667-3675 for immediate assistance.
Welcome Week activities are a great opportunity to meet new people, get to know campus, and have a fun time before classes start. Activities are posted on your monthly calendar and can be found on Warrior Life.
