Summer Housing
Housing hosts a variety of summer conferences, overnight New Student Orientations, and performs routine maintenance on all units throughout the course of the summer. As a result, space for summer housing is limited.
In order to have a complete summer application, applicants must complete the following:
- Fill out the online application in the Housing Portal
- Pay the $25 non-refundable application fee
- Have a $0 balance for 2022-23 housing fees (if a returning student)
Room placement for summer housing will be determined by the date an applicant's summer application is processed as complete and is NOT guaranteed.
Applicants will be added to a waitlist if they apply after all available spaces have been filled.
Summer Housing Rates & Fees
All applicants are charged a $25.00 non-refundable application fee. This fee is part of the application process and must be paid in order for an application to be considered complete.
Dates of Term | Cost | |
---|---|---|
Summer Term A | 6/2/2023 - 8/12/2023 | $1,917.00 |
Summer Term B | 7/14/2023 - 8/12/2023 | $1,134.00 |
In addition to the summer rental rate, summer residents who live on campus Spring 2023 and are approved to stay for the summer will be charged a prorated $162 rental rate to bridge their stay between the end of the spring semester and the start of the summer contract. This cost breaks down to 6 nights at $27.00 per night.
New residents who are not currently living on campus will not be charged to bridge and will receive instructions about their move-in day.

When will I receive my summer room placement?
The majority of summer placements will be in Village 3 South.
Residents who live on campus for spring semester will likely have to switch to a new unit shortly after Spring Move-Out Day (May 27). Housing will do our best to notify summer residents as soon as possible with their summer room switch timeline. This date will fluctuate based on unit availability.
Spring 2023 residents who are approved to stay on campus over summer should prepare their spring units for move out the first 2 weeks of June, in anticipation of a room switch timeframe within the month of June.
- Spring residents will receive a 3-day time period to move.
- New summer residents (not students who currently live on campus) who do not move within 3 days of Move-In Day will be considered a no-show and their summer application will be administratively cancelled, per the Housing License Agreement.
-
I understand that my summer placement is not necessarily my Fall room placement, and that if I am planning to live on campus in Fall 2023 I will be potentially moving twice over the summer (once in June and once in August).
New residents will receive separate instructions about move-in day. Please continue to check your Stan State email for instructions.
