Community Living
Residents are encouraged to find a community that aligns with their personal passions, interests, and goals. Our living communities offer the perfect space to connect with like-minded peers and foster a sense of belonging that enhances your college experience.

Gender-Affirming Housing
At Stan State, we welcome students from every background, age, gender, and identity and are proud to call them our friends, colleagues, classmates, roommates, and fellow Warriors.
Gender-Affirming Housing is offered in all of our Housing communities to reaffirm that gender diversity is an important aspect of campus life and integrated into our community’s culture. Here, students can feel comfortable and free to be their authentic self.
What is Gender-Affirming Housing?
Gender-affirming housing is for students who are transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or otherwise do not identify along the gender binary. By indicating you want to have a Gender-affirming housing placement, you are comfortable sharing your space with students of ALL genders. Your roommate(s) may not be of a gender identity that aligns with yours.
Can I connect with other students who want to live in Gender-Affirming Housing prior to moving in?
In the housing application, students can select that they would like to live in a Gender-Affirming space. There is a designated window of time throughout the application cycle that applicants will be able to search for roommates. During this time, you can search for others who selected Gender-Affirming Housing, message with them, and form a roommate group to live together, if desired.
Students requesting gender-affirming housing are assigned housing placements with others who make similar requests. There are gender-affirming options throughout the housing community in single bedroom unit types only (Single Apartment and Single Suite).
Our friends at the Warrior Cross Cultural Center "WCCC" host a variety of inclusive events and diverse groups, including the Male Success Initiative, Undocumented Student Services, Social Justice Book Club, and more.
Housing Accommodations
Housing and Residential Life works with Disability Resource Services "DRS" to provide living accommodation(s) for students. While we will ask in the housing application if a student plans to request accommodations, it is the responsibility of the student to contact DRS.
- Per CSU policy, anyone requesting accommodations must register with DRS and DRS will review all accommodation requests for eligible students. Accommodations can range from accessible rooms and bathrooms to emotional support animals and modified furniture.
- If you need to bring an emotional support animal to campus, please review additional information on the Disability Resource Services website. The animal is not permitted to be brought to campus until approved through the University process.
Individuals requesting accommodation(s) are encouraged to visit the DRS website for more information, or contact DRS via phone at 209-667-3159 or via email at drs@csustan.edu.
Come see us (and our cats). Schedule a tour to learn how we incorporate community into everything that we do and why we aren't the type of dorm you see on television.
