We're excited to help you begin your journey toward living on campus at Stan State. Whether you're a new or returning student, we're here to assist you every step of the way. Read the steps carefully, and don't hesitate to reach out to the Housing Office with any questions.
Start or Continue Your Housing Application
Before you begin, take some time to review our meal plans, room types, floor plans, and living communities. While our unit styles are not traditional "dorms," all units are shared between 4 or 6 roommates.
Certain sections of the application, such as Meal Plan and Room Type, are required to select inside the application. Others, such as Living Community and Gender-Affirming Housing, are optional.
Housing Application dates
- Academic Year 2024-25: Now Open
- Spring-Only 2025: Opens November 2024
- Academic Year 2025-26: Opens March 2025
- Summer 2025: Opens April 2025
The Application Process
Bedrooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date an application was processed by staff. If an application is submitted early but something is missing (e.g. Financial Guarantor signature), expect a call from the Housing Office! Applications will not be processed as complete until all sections and required forms have been submitted.
To submit an application, you'll need a Student ID Number and Stan State Login Credentials (username and password).
Our application process takes approximately 15 minutes and can be submitted fully online*, with no payment due upfront.

- Review & Acknowledge Housing Forms & Policies
- Review Application & Activities Fee (auto-deferred)
*Applicants under the age of 18 are required to submit a Financial Guarantor form, which requires a parent/guardian signature.
What happens next?
Double check your application to ensure all boxes are checked, forms are signed and uploaded (if applicable), and that you've ended on the Application Status page. You will receive a confirmation email and your Application Status page will update once staff has completed your application; this takes approximately 2-4 business days, depending on the time of year.
Room assignment & Roommate Groups
You must have a complete application to participate in Room Selection and Roommate Groups (available for Academic Year Contract only), or to receive a Room Placement.
Once you have a room assignment, you will receive a confirmation email. View your booking and roommates anytime on the Application Status page of the housing application.
If Applying for Academic Year...
The Roommate Groups feature of the application is open for a designated period of time. After it closes, residents can request roommates through the Room Placement Request Form.
Returning Residents & Upper Division Students: Room Selection takes place mid-April. Those who submit an application later than the Room Selection deadline will be placed into a unit based on their room type and/or community preferences, subject to availability.
First Year Students: Room Placement begins in May and occurs on a monthly basis throughout the summer. Complete your application early for the best chance to be placed into your top room type preference!
If Applying for Spring Only...
Room Placement for incoming Spring residents begins in early January.
Applicants are placed into a unit based on room type preference, subject to availability. Due to academic year occupancy, we cannot guarantee placement into your preferred room type but will do our best to accommodate.
