Low Costs, High Expectations

Stanislaus State Housing and Residential Life consistently has some of the lowest rental rates in the California State University system. Although our cost is low, we maintain a high number of support services and community amenities to provide the best quality of living and value for students.

Have a question about your housing payment? Our Student Accounts Specialist is available to meet with incoming and current residents to discuss housing charges and the costs associated with living on campus.

Financial Aid can also be applied to student housing. To view your financial aid award, login to your student account via MyStanState.

Due to limited availability in the summer, room placement for summer housing is determined by application completion date and is NOT guaranteed. Applicants will be added to a waitlist if they apply after all available spaces have been filled.

A $25 non-refundable application fee will be charged to the student's account, regardless of if they move in or not.

Since the Spring, Summer, and Academic Year Housing contracts do not overlap, there are a certain number of "bridge dates" that residents must pay for if they plan to stay on campus between terms. If you do not bridge your contracts as part of the housing application process, you must move out between terms. Bridge costs range from $162 to $378, depending on the amount of time bridged between contracts. Please refer to the Housing Application for full details.

2024-25 Meal Plans

All students living on campus are required to purchase a meal plan. Residents have 10 days following Move-In Day to log back into their housing application and change their meal plan selection.

Meal Plan Name Cost for Academic Year Contract Cost for Spring-Only Contract Meal Swipes
Per Week
Flex Dollars
Per Semester
Suite Plan:
Unlimited 7-Day*
$4,800.00 $2,400.00 19 $300
Stan Plan:
Unlimited 5-Day* (Mon-Fri)
$4,800.00 $2,400.00 15 $700
Warrior 140* $3,900.00 $1,950.00 8-9 $500
Warrior 125 $3,600.00 $1,800.00 7-8 $425

* First year residents have three options: Suite Plan, Stan Plan and Warrior 140. Upper division residents can choose between all four plans.

What's a Meal Swipe? Swipes grant entry into the all-you-care-to-eat Main Dining venue. Unlimited meal swipes allow the meal plan holder to enter Main Dining as many times throughout the day as a resident cares to eat, either Monday through Friday (Stan Plan) or Monday through Sunday (Suite Plan). Unused swipes expire at the end of each semester and do not roll over.

What are Flex Dollars? Flex dollars work just like a debit card and can be used at any of the dining locations on campus. Unused Flex Dollars will roll over from fall semester to spring semester, but will expire at the end of the academic year. Flex Dollars may be used over campus breaks if on-campus retail locations are open.

Dining on campus is easy when you're a Housing resident! With a variety of venues (including the much-anticipated return of Main Dining), menus, and plans, there's something for everyone.
