DINING ON CAMPUS

Housing staff and student representatives work closely with our campus food service provider Chartwells "Warrior Eats" to ensure that residents have the best possible dining experience.

Warrior Eats offers four meal plans that include a mixture of “swipes” and "flex dollars" to use around campus. To ensure you have just the right amount of dining dollars – not too little or too many – make sure to select a dining plan that fits your personal eating habits and lifestyle.

Did you know that campus dining has their own website and app? On the Dine on Campus platforms, students can

  • View daily dining menus
  • View hours of operation
  • Recharge their meal plan
  • Submit feedback or ideas

Students are also encouraged to submit dining feedback via text-to-chat at (209) 841-0772 or email warrioreats@csustan.edu.

*Following the end of fall term, campus and Housing "shut down" for a period of time known as Winter Shutdown. During this time, campus dining is closed. Over Winter Intersession, typically the only on-campus dining locations are the Canteens and Starbucks (limited hours). Students can use their Canteen Cash leftover from fall during this time until Spring Meal Plans are loaded.

Residents have a 10-day window following the contracted move-in day to make changes to their meal plan selection. Details on how to make changes to your plan are outlined in the housing application.

Your meal plan starts on the contracted move-in day.

Dining services are typically unavailable on holidays when the campus is closed, including a two-week shutdown period following fall move out in December. Service is extremely limited during winter intersession and, during that time, only Canteen Cash can be used.

There are no meal plans offered over summer due to the limited dining services on campus for that term.

Meal Plans are loaded onto Warrior ID cards, turning your ID into a debit card that can be used at dining venues on campus. Main Dining will deduct swipes or flex, and other venues will deduct flex dollars or Canteen Cash. Your plan is active as soon as Move-In Day arrives.

Meal Swipes can be used at Main Dining all-you-care-to-eat. Flex Dollars can be used at all campus dining locations except the Canteens. Canteen Cash can be used at either Canteen location (Village Cafe or Library). If a resident isn't interested in using the Canteen, they can also use their Canteen Cash as flex dollars at any of the dining locations.

For more details about dining hours and locations, visit the Dine on Campus websiteVenues are subject to change as adjusted by Chartwells/Warrior Eats.

To view how many swipes, flex or Canteen Cash you have left on your card, visit www.warriorcard.com.

If your Warrior Card is lost or stolen, get a new card by visiting the OIT Help Desk on the second floor of the library. Replacement cards may be subject to a fee of $5.00.

First and foremost - don't put cash in the machine unless you have the exact change!

The Canteen is self-service, grab-and-go dining option located in the Village Cafe and the first floor of the library. $100 worth of flex dollars are automatically eligible to be used at Canteen locations. Follow the instructions on the kiosk screen for additional details but, essentially, it's swipe and go!
