As you explore living options at Stanislaus State, take some time to consider one of four Living Learning Communities or one of five Themed Communities. Both options create inclusive and meaningful environments that blend your residential and academic or social experiences into one.
All of these options are located on your housing application. If you are interested in taking advantage of these communities, be sure to indicate your preferred choice in the Living Communities section of the application.
Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities are designed to support student success from every angle. These communities have a strong academic element and are directly linked to a class that all members of the selected community attend together, along with a peer mentor.
Residents in LLCs have their own Resident Assistant, Peer Academic Leader, and designated faculty member to help them navigate college life, classes, and living away from home.
- ELEVATE 2.0
- Honors First Year
- Social Justice

Themed Communities are interest-based and, while not linked to a class, also maintain strong academic support elements. Floor events, social activities, and academic workshops are all shaped through the interest of the selected community.
Residents in Themed Communities have their own Resident Assistant and Peer Academic Leader to help guide them through their college experience.
