Nationwide is offering two benefit options for your pets. This insurance can cover your pet’s accidents, illness and even preventive care and wellness services. Plans are available for dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotics (such as reptiles). The Premier Vision Plan enables you to get a higher allowance for frames and contacts, fully covered standard progressive lenses, and more discounts. Eligible employees must enroll through VSP directly by calling (800) 400-4569. The additional cost will be deducted directly from their pay warrant. The CSU Health/Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, a voluntary benefit for eligible employees, offers you the ability to pay for eligible out-of-pocket health care expenses with pre-tax dollars. If you enroll in the plan, the contributions you make to your account are deducted from your paycheck before federal, state and FICA taxes are calculated. Your taxable income is reduced, and consequently, your taxable income reflected on your annual W-2 statement is reduced for expenses eligible to be reimbursed from the Health Care Reimbursement plan.  To enroll please visit the enrollment page.

Critical Illness Insurance helps employees manage expenses during a serious illness such as heart attack, severe stroke, or invasive cancer. Participants can use the benefit, which is paid to them in a lump sum, for deductibles, copayments, rent or groceries as the employee or a family member recovers. The Accident insurance pays a lump sum directly to you so you can help cover out-of-pocket expenses as you or a family member recuperates after an accident. Voluntary Long-Term Disability plan, offered by The Standard, provides loss of income protection (up to 60%) due to a qualified disability. For more information go to the Standard website or contact The Standard customer service at 1-800-378-5745.

Long-term care plans cover certain services provided in a setting other than an acute care unit of a hospital, such as a nursing home, residential care facility, adult day care center or in the home, according to the plan selected. Contact the CalPERS Long-Term Care Program at 1-800-908-9119.
