The beginning of a freshman student's collegiate experience at California State University, Stanislaus is an exciting time in the lives of both students and parents. It is also a time filled with questions and concerns regarding your child's upcoming transition to college. For this reason, we offer an orientation just for parents and guests. While your student is at New Student Orientation, parents and guests have their own orientation with topics tailored to meet your specific needs and concerns. At Parent/Guest Orientation you will be able to:
- Hear speakers on such topics as Financial Aid, Career Services, The Transition to College Life, Housing and Residential Life, Getting Involved with Student Activities, and Enrollment Services.
- Meet faculty and university staff.
- Socialize with current students and other parents and ask questions.
- Learn about what your student needs to graduate.
The fee is $30.oo per parent/guest, which includes a catered lunch as well as all the materials. The maximum guests allowed per student are two and no children (anyone under to age of 21) are allowed at Parent/Guest Orientation. In order to attend, your student must register while registering for their own New Student Orientation. Payment is made online. An email will be sent to your student with information regarding logistics for the day of orientation. Please notify our office a week prior to your chosen orientation if you have special dietary needs or need disability or mobility accommodations.
