Going to college involves new experiences. Supporters are encouraged to attend New Student Orientation to learn how the University is here to support their student. As a supporter, you play an important role in your student’s future.  Be a part of the support system that will help your Warrior succeed in their journey.

Supporters Orientation

Whether you are a parent, loved one or dear guest of a new Warrior, you are invited to attend New Student Orientation (NSO). NSO introduces supporters to our community, campus services and resources for student success. All guest registrations must be made through the student's registration. All guest registrations include an additional $50 fee per guest that is added to the student's NSO registration.

Supporter Orientation Details:

  • Students can register up to two guests.
  • Supporters Orientation is available in English and Spanish.
  • All guest registrations are added to a student's NSO registration.
  • All guest registrations are subject to a non-refundable $50 fee per guest.
  • Payment to attend is not due until the census date via the new student's account.

Note: Supporters Orientation is for all guests attending New Student Orientation. Supporters Orientation is a separate orientation from the student program. All registered guests will attend this separate Supporters Orientation.

1. New Student Advising and Registration—an on-campus event for students to meet their major academic advisor, build and finalize their class schedule, and register for courses.

2. New Student Orientation (NSO)

  • NSO Canvas Course—online learning modules provided prior to New Student Orientation to help students learn about important campus information.
  • New Student Orientation a day program that helps prepare students for their first year at Stan State by connecting them to peers, the campus community, resources and services.

Supporters are encouraged to attend Supporters Orientation, which highlights their important role in a student’s success. This event also offers an opportunity to connect with the campus community and other guests while gaining helpful insights into a Warrior’s journey.

 

To help protect student privacy, the University is not able to share details about academic progress or health information unless the student has given authorization. Staying in regular communication with your student is a great way to stay updated on how they’re doing and to support them throughout their journey.

 

Understanding when one needs help and building the confidence to ask for assistance is an essential part of the college experience. Resources are available across the campus to address any challenges students face. 

Learn about Student Affairs

The University Police Department is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week serving the campus and surrounding area. We have sworn police officers on staff, as well as numerous employees and student assistants. Strategically placed emergency blue light phones are designed to allow students immediate connection to campus security or emergency services. UPD provides no fare evening shuttles throughout campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors to ride our Warrior Express shuttles for protection after dark.
