New Student Orientation (NSO) is an experience designed to help you prepare for your first year at Stanislaus State. NSO is your opportunity to learn how to navigate academic life, discover support programs and resources, connect with peers and become involved in our student community. We are excited to welcome students, families and supporters to campus!

Your college journey begins at New Student Orientation (NSO) and Stan State, where you belong. Attending NSO is a valuable step in transitioning to the University and is the best way to prepare yourself for student life. New Student Orientation attendance is expected of all incoming first-year and transfer students.

After accepting your admission to the University and attending New Student Advising and Registration ... 

  1. Register for New Student Orientation! All new students must attend New Student Orientation. Select one of the dates above. The deadline to self-select and register for your preferred NSO date is December 11, 2024. After December 11, all unregistered students will be registered to an available NSO date. 

  2. Complete the New Student Immunization Requirement: All new students are required to submit proof of their immunizations before the start of the fall semester or before they will be on campus, whichever comes first. The first day of the semester is January 26, 2025.  

  3. Stay Up to Date! Continue to monitor important information regarding New Student Orientation via your Stanislaus State email. Are you looking for emails? Please make sure you are checking all your inboxes, including spam folders. Follow Student Orientation and Transitions on Instagram to stay connected with everything NSO! 

There is a mandatory non-refundable fee of $75 for all new students and a $50 fee per guest registered to attend New Student Orientation. Payment is not due at the time of orientation. Payment is due Monday, February 24, 2025. Fees cover the cost of attendance for attendees and program setup, and will become available on the student's myStanState Student Center.

Stanislaus State welcomes supporters of incoming students to attend the Family and Supporters Orientation! This is an opportunity to learn about student life and how to play a critical role in your student's success. New Student Orientation (NSO) is important in fostering a student's smooth transition to life at Stanislaus State, and we invite you to be a part of this meaningful experience.

Students may register up to three guests through their New Student Orientation registration. New Student Orientation registration opens Monday, November 25, 2024. Guest registrations are optional; each guest registration is subject to a $50 non-refundable fee. 

Please note: Family and Supporters Orientation is for all guests attending New Student Orientation. Family and Supporters Orientation is a separate orientation from the student program. All registered guests will attend this separate Family and Supporters Orientation.
