Yes, New Student Orientation is mandatory for all new First-Year and Transfer students. It is an opportunity for you and your family or support members to learn how to make a successful transition into Stanislaus State student life. We can't wait to meet you! 

Once you accept enrollment to Stanislaus State, you will be scheduled for orientation. Orientation information is sent to your student email account prior to your scheduled orientation date. Keep an eye on your student email and Warrior Connect for additional helpful information.

Yes, information and steps on what to complete prior to your orientation will be sent to your student email two weeks prior to your scheduled orientation date.

Your student ID number is the 9-digit Warrior ID# found on your Stanislaus State Acceptance Letter.

Both Turlock and Stockton campuses offer in-person, on campus orientation. We welcome you and your family or support members to get a sneak peek into Warrior Nation and learn about valuable resources to help you navigate your transition to Stanislaus State.

NSO staff may accommodate orientation date changes until June 1, 2024. Please contact the New Student Orientation Office at (209) 664-6757 or email nso@csustan.edu. Please note, NSO staff cannot lift holds or authorize refunds.

Yes, you must be present for the entire orientation. We encourage students and family/supporters to review the orientation agenda prior to your orientation date so you can make accommodations to attend the entire program.

Yes, you should attend orientation at the campus where you will take the majority of classes. If the majority of your classes are in Turlock, register for the Turlock NSO. If the majority of your classes are at the Stockton campus, plan to attend the Stockton NSO. 

Stanislaus State places a "hold" on registering for classes until you attend NSO. Class registration holds are released during your scheduled orientation. 

Yes, academic advisors and faculty from your major will answer questions and provide academic advising at NSO.

No, you will register for classes during NSO. Academic advisors, evaluators, faculty and orientation leaders are available to assist you with class registration.

Yes, you can change your major at any time during your college career by completing the Declaration or Change of Degree Objective Form. This form can be found on the Enrollment Services website.

A concentration is a more specialized area of study within your major that may focus on a specific career path. A minor is a secondary field of study that does not need to be related to your major.
