Hiring Timeline and Process

We have concluded hiring processes for new courses for the Fall 2024 term.  We will consider tutoring requests for Spring 2025 starting the Nov. 1-22.  

We hire most tutors before the semester starts but accept applications and add offerings up until about halfway into each term. After that point, we begin hiring processes for the following semester. Once interested candidates apply, the hiring process typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete.

Process Steps

1. Work with faculty to identify learning support needs, assess demand, recruit, or recommend applicants
2. Review applications and conduct interviews
3. Request faculty recommendations and ensure schedule availability of tutor candidate
4. Selection of tutor candidates and processing of Human Resources hiring documents.
5. Conduct training for the tutoring role
