Spring 2025

As you plan for the Spring 2025 semester, please remember to work into your schedule the courses you need to maintain good standing in the Honors Program. The information below will help you identify the classes you’ll want to take based on your year (i.e., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) and indicate which of those classes are available to you next semester.

As always, we do not require you to take Honors classes to meet a GE requirement you’ve already fulfilled through AP credit, as a prerequisite, or as a course in your major. If there are scheduling conflicts between your major classes and your Honors classes, take the class for your major now and pick up the Honors class in a future semester. The only exceptions are the Honors Capstone Project research classes (HONS 3990, HONS 3500, HONS 4960) which must be taken in order starting the spring of your junior year. Please contact us with questions—we can help resolve specific conflicts. Many of our Honors classes have on-line options, but several do not. Please remember that you are able take most Honors classes in a later semester if they don’t work with your schedule now.

As members of the Honors program, you will be able to add your Honors courses without permission numbers except in a few limited cases. For those classes that do require a permission number, please email Dr. Bell with the course number (eebell@csustan.edu). Once Dr. Bell has answered your email confirming that you have a seat in the class, you will be able to add the course using the permission number included in the email message. We recommend that you add your Honors classes during your second-pass registration appointment.

If you would like to make an Honors advising appointment, you can make one through Warrior Connect with Dr. Bell or Dr. Redwing. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Bell. Honors advising is not mandatory, but it can help keep you on track, so please make an appointment if you can or attend one of our Honors advising meetings.

We are always happy to answer any questions you have about your Honors classes, the program in general, plans for careers or graduate school, etc.—just ask!
