IMPORTANT NOTICE: The current Executive Order N-66-20, signed by Governor Newsom, was approved for academic years 19-20 and 20-21 only. Therefore, all programs will adhere to normal program fieldwork requirements for Fall 2021. The listed requirements below are currently set in place, if there are any changes or an extension to the EO we will follow up with you via your Stanislaus State email. Please work on obtaining and submitting all necessary documentation to credentials@csustan.edu as soon as possible.

Candidates fully admitted and matriculated to the Single Subject Credential Program, passed CBEST, and fulfilled the Subject Matter Competency requirement through CSET or an approved waiver program may apply to begin their student teaching experience.

You may still submit a Student Teaching Application if your CSET exams are scheduled in March or early April. Please proceed with submitting an application by March 19, 2021 with proof of registration for student teaching consideration.

IMPORTANT: Submitting an application does not guarantee a placement. The cleared list is on a first come first serve basis and clearance will be pending until ALL CSETs in your content area are completed and passed. A placement will not be made until you receive clearance from Field Services. 

You can still apply for student teaching while taking courses; however, you required to submit a Course Verification Form completed by your instructor with your Student Teaching Application. Please send the Course Verification Form link to your in-progress SMPP course instructors for verification. Once complete, a copy will be sent directly to Field Services.

Yes, you can still apply to student teach without completing this course. This is a co-requisite course; therefore, you may take it while in program. Please note, you must complete this required course or equivalent before the end of the program for credential recommendation.

Yes, you may apply for student teaching. However, you will not receive student teaching clearance until a Course Verification Form is completed by your instructor indicating that you will pass the course.

All responses will be collected by the Office of Field Services. You will receive a separate notification email with further information in regards to your eligibility status 2 weeks AFTER the deadline.
