Welcome to Information Technology
The Office of Information Technology advances the university's mission through the provision of technology services to all members of the university community. OIT strives to create a high-quality, reliable, secure and responsive technology environment to support students, faculty and staff in the pursuit of their educational and work objectives. We seek to enable innovative uses of information technology in instructional, administrative and social applications in harmony with the overall mission of the university.
OIT is organized into four major units reporting to the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO holds university-wide responsibility for providing leadership for all aspects of campus information technology including academic, instructional and administrative technologies and their associated supporting infrastructure and services.
Information Technology Units
Client Services is made up of four groups: Help Desk, Desktop Support, Computer Lab Support, and Instructional Technology Support. The goal of Client Services is to provide technology support to students, faculty, and staff in an efficient and timely manner.
Information Services is responsible for all administrative applications and database systems on campus. Information Services also works with other areas of OIT on projects that require integration of the Technology Services, Client Services, and the Learning Services divisions. We also provide consulting services and project management services for all enterprise software implementations on campus.
Learning Services provides access and technical support for televised and online courses taken by students throughout the University's six-county service area Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne - and beyond.
Technology Services ensures consistent management of server hardware and operating system software across the variety of platforms in use, all computer room and telecommunications operations.
