As a California State University (CSU) employee, your paycheck/direct deposit advice and annual W-2 are issued (hard copy) by the State Controller’s Office (SCO). These hard copy documents have been the only means made available to you by the SCO as a record of your earnings until now.
The State Controller’s office has produced a tool that will allow employees to view their earnings statements and W-2’s, along with personal information. The SCO plans on implementing more functionality based on your input. Cal Employee Connect (CEC) will ultimately reduce state costs and workload by providing a tool for all state employees to access their information electronically.
To get started, you will need to have a recent pay stub in hand, issued within the last six months by your current campus. The paystub contains the information needed for registration in the portal.

If you encounter an issue with your data or identify a problem with the functioning of the application, please contact connecthelp@sco.ca.gov. If you wish to provide feedback about what you like or think can be improved, please write to connectfeedback@sco.ca.gov. You will find links to this feedback address under the Help & Feedback tab within the CEC portal.
We want to encourage all employees to participate. Please note that the SCO owns and maintains this portal and is not part of CSU’s PeopleSoft Self-Service. We hope you enjoy this new functionality.
Employee Services feature has expanded to include a Withholdings Change feature. The Withholdings Change feature has been created as an additional self-serve option.
If you already have current Withholdings on file, you do not need to submit a new request through CEC.
The first step to start using this feature is to enable Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
If MFA is not already enabled, select User Profile, Click Turn-On MFA, and follow the instructions within the application to download an authenticator App to your phone and enjoy an extra layer of security to your CEC account.
