The Office of Academic Programs works with department chairs, program directors and deans to support faculty in developing and updating academic programs, in accordance with federal, state, and system policy and established campus practices.

All curriculum proposals are submitted through Curriculum by Modern Campus (Curriculum CMS), the university’s paperless curriculum management system.

Program Authorization and Compliance

New academic programs, including degrees, concentrations, minors, and certificates, may not be advertised, promoted, or promised to students until full approval has been granted. Degree programs and concentrations require CSU Chancellor’s Office approval, and minors or certificates require formal campus approval by the President. Publicizing unapproved programs may mislead students, and has legal and accreditation implications.

The Office of Academic Programs will issue the official authorization letter or presidential resolution once all approvals are finalized. Programs are advised not to assume that proposals will be approved in time for inclusion in the current catalog cycle, and should maintain close communication with the Curriculum Specialist throughout the review process.
