Welcome to working from home. You may be experienced at working from home or this may be your first time. Either way, there are some simple and effective things you can do to stay comfortable, healthy and productive.

Remember to listen to your body. If you feel uncomfortable, get up, move and stretch. If you experience pain, please report it to your manager.

Don’t forget to stay in touch with your colleagues. If you are feeling isolated, there’s a chance they feel the same way. Pick up the phone and check in regularly. If you feel like you need support, tell someone. Make sure you are clear about what your manager expects from you.

Make sure you have a plan for illness and emergencies, such as fire. Check your fire alarms, don’t overload plug sockets and carry your phone with you at all times.

Make sure the cabling for your laptop and other work devices does not create a tripping hazard. It’s easy to become complacent and overlook these hazards at home because it’s such a familiar environment. Avoid complacency because it can result in risks and injuries.

Most important, if you have an issue or anything that concerns you, whether it relates to comfort, workload, potential or actual risks, you must report it to your manager or Safety and Risk Management immediately. Remember, your health and well-being are very important. This period of working from home is temporary and difficult for everyone. The Stan State Administration is here to support you through this challenging period.
