Our Goals

The Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (FCETL) is dedicated to building a learning-centered community, and to improving student learning by supporting faculty in ways that make teaching a more satisfying, and productive activity. This is done by coordinating, consolidating, enhancing, and expanding existing faculty development services at Stanislaus State. The center:

ACUE 2023-2024

This is an online, professional learning experience. This 25- week course provides instructors with evidence-based teaching practices proven through independently-validated research to improve student success. Faculty who complete the course earn a nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction, the only college teaching credential endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE). The cohort will complete one module per week over 25 weeks during the 2023-2024 academic year, in addition to a monthly in-person/ virtual Cohort Meeting.

  • Calling in the Call Out Culture: Part 2 – “Deepening Our Understanding of Call Out Culture” Feb. 16, 2022

This year, the Faculty Center invites our campus community to embrace joy as a guiding force in our work. In a time when higher education faces challenges and uncertainty, joy is a radical act. Joy fuels curiosity, sparks creativity, and renews our sense of purpose.
