The purpose of the Social Justice Book Club is to build community by reading a variety of literary genres such as poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels that reflect social justice, racism, decolonization, identity, and personal narratives that relate to marginalized communities. The mission of this book club is to highlight literature and authors that promote overall acceptance, social justice, and collective healing.

Project Rebound is hosting the film screening, "They Call Us Monsters" featuring Jarad Nava. Jarad was sentenced to over 120 years in prison as a juvenile and served a total of 9 years. He is currently a student at Sacramento State University and a participant in the Project Rebound Program, and he is currently working at the State Capital. Jarad will join us for a panel discussion after the film screening.
