This page explains how to use Turnitin in Canvas. Turnitin is already enabled on the whole Stan State account and does not need to be turned on individually by instructors.
SpeedGrader is the unified grading interface in Canvas. It is used to assign grades to any activity in Canvas, such as assignments, quizzes, and discussions. Some third-party tools that connect to Canvas's assignment tool can also use SpeedGrader to do the actual scoring of the students.
Creating a Rubric
Use rubrics when you want to use a consistent set of criteria in grading. Often, it's recommended to let students see the rubric before submitting an assignment so they can have an idea of how their submission will be assessed.
Rubrics in Canvas are very flexible. For example, you can create different rating scales for different criteria rather than using the same scale for all criteria.
Note: The words "quiz," "test," "exam," etc. all represent the same thing in Canvas. They are all configured using the Quiz tool.
