Jose Padilla, California Rural Legal Assistance Director, will be the featured speaker at the 13th Annual California State University, Stanislaus Cesar Chavez Celebration on Thursday, April 3.
Dr. Miguel Altieri, an agroecology expert from UC Berkeley, will speak about sustainable agriculture as a productive and natural resource preserving process at California State University, Stanislaus on Wednesday, April 2. Part of the CSU Stanislaus Agricultural Studies speaker series sponsored by Yosemite Farm Credit, the program is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Faculty Development Center.

"Challenges and Opportunities for a Sustainable Agriculture in the 21st Century" is the title of Altier's talk. The program is free and open to the public.
University Extended Education at California State University, Stanislaus will hold an information session in Modesto on Friday, April 4 for its upcoming new class titled "Spanish for Health Care Workers."

The California State University, Stanislaus College of Natural Sciences has awarded 13 members of its faculty with the first Naraghi Faculty Research Grant Awards aimed at enhancing their work on topics ranging from computer technology development and outer space to DNA analysis and food safety.

Roger McNeil, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences, announced the names of the research grant recipients as well as two additional Naraghi Faculty Travel Awards that went to Mathematics faculty members Kenneth Howard and Jung-Ha An, who also received a research grant.
