On Saturday, January 22, California State University, Stanislaus will host the 2011 National Engineers Week - Future City Competition Northern California Region Statewide Finals. The program begins at 7 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The event is open to the public and members of the community are invited to attend. Admission is free.
More than 30 schools, including Hart-Ransom Elementary (Modesto), McSwain School (Merced), Walnut Elementary and Crowell Elementary Schools (Turlock), and Don Pedro Elementary (Ceres) are scheduled to participate, according to Dr. Viji K. Sundar, Professor of Mathematics and Director of Math Grants at CSU Stanislaus. Regional winners will travel to Washington D.C. to compete in the national competition.
