The California State University, Stanislaus Nursing Program recently received a healthy booster shot thanks to a $270,000 Kaiser Permanente gift that will allow more nursing students to graduate with college degrees. The gift addresses a local, statewide, and nationwide demand for nurses and will support the University’s expanding Nursing Program that is focused on helping provide more graduates to meet the state’s continuing need for skilled nurses.

As more students and faculty start bringing computer laptops and other technological tools to class, California State University, Stanislaus has taken action to make sure they have up-to-date technology access in the classrooms and laboratories on the Turlock and Stockton campuses.

With the debut of the new Master of Science in Nursing degree featuring concentrations in Nursing Education and Gerontology coming to California State University, Stanislaus in February 2009, information sessions on the new program have been scheduled for Tuesday, September 23.

Two programs will be held in Room 130 of the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Services Gateway Building, the first from noon to 1:30 p.m. and the second from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Twenty-eight graduating high school seniors have been selected as 2008-2009 recipients of the Presidential and Provost Scholarships at California State University, Stanislaus.

Those awarded the largest individual scholarships at CSU Stanislaus include 16 graduating high school seniors who have been named President’s Scholars and another 12 selected as Provost’s Scholars. Presidential Scholarships are $12,500 per year for four years, and the Provost Scholarships are $3,500 per year for four years.

High school seniors who are making plans to enroll at California State University, Stanislaus or other CSU campuses can save themselves some time and extra work by paying attention to the results of test scores in their mail.
