More than 1,400 local third grade students will visit the campus of California State University (CSU) Stanislaus on Friday, May 20 to learn about agriculture through AgEdventure Day, a program hosted by the university’s Agricultural Studies Department and sponsored by area businesses.

Students will tour the sustainable garden on campus, plant seeds, learn about nutrition, and participate in a variety of agriculture-related activities.

The program was introduced to Turlock schools in 2010 and will expand this year to include students from Keyes and Denair. Sponsors include Almond Bureau of California, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau, and Garton Ford Tractor. Volunteer assistance will come from the campus Ag Ambassadors and community volunteers.
