Students in the Peter DeCaro’s Communications class at California State University (CSU) Stanislaus recently worked with Stanislaus County Superior Court officials to prepare for the annual celebration of Law Day, which will take place on Saturday, May 7 at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto. DeCaro’s class conducted research, identified target audiences, and created ads and flyers for Law Day. They created news releases and PSA’s for radio and print publications, in both English and Spanish.

Established in 1958 by President Eisenhower, Law Day is officially recognized on May 1 but is celebrated month-long and nationwide. It is a time set aside to honor and recognize the rule of law. The Law Day celebration at the mall takes place once a year. Local agencies, attorneys, and court staff will be on hand at the free public event to answer legal questions and provide information on local services.
