True to California State University, Stanislaus’ reputation for educating first-rate human resources professionals, students Danielle Fletcher and Vanessa Hunter recently won top National Society for Human Resource Management scholarships.

Fletcher, the president of the campus Society for Human Resources Management, won the top student award and took home a $2,500 scholarship. This honor is bestowed upon only 10 students nationwide.

Hunter, the society’s vice president, was awarded the 2010 Professional in Human Resources Management certificate, which is given to a select few of highly promising students in the nation and includes a scholarship to cover the cost of taking professional exams.

CSU Stanislaus holds the national record for students passing the Professional in Human Resources certification test.

Fletcher, a third-year student, attracted the attention of the nation’s human resources professionals and educators when she made the opening speech at the National Society for Human Resource Management conference in June.

CSU Stanislaus Human Resources students have also established a reputation for raking in wins at the state and regional U.S. human resource competitions. The next Human Resource Games Championships will be held Feb. 12, 2011.
