The California State University, Stanislaus Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree program, heading into its second year, is preparing to accept a third cohort of candidates in Stockton, starting in June 2010. Four information sessions on the program are scheduled from December 2 through February 24.
California State University, Stanislaus students from two Criminal Justice Service Learning courses are visiting 10 Turlock school sites to mentor at-risk youth and help them improve their opportunities for success in school.
A group of 24 California State University, Stanislaus students, many of them having overcome challenges and obstacles in their lives to excel academically, have been honored as Mary Stuart Rogers Scholars.

Recipients of the 2009-10 scholarship awards were congratulated by John and June Rogers of the Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation at an October 30 reception and dinner program on the CSU Stanislaus campus. This year’s group includes nine graduate and 15 undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic talent and skills that place them at the top of their classes.

Efforts to improve Hispanic education in the region and raise awareness of post-graduate degree programs that prepare future education leaders will receive a welcome boost from a $230,000 U.S. Department of Education grant awarded to California State University, Stanislaus.
