Guitarraganza - March 4-6, 2021

The festival is a celebration of guitar studies and performances featuring guest artist concerts, lectures, and master classes that involve the CSU Stan guitar studio and the Central Valley Guitar Community.  This semester, we will premiere a work written for our festival and Associate Professor of Guitar and Lute Studies, Dr. David D. Chapman as written by Maestro Pablo De Giusto from the Universidad de Cordoba, Argentina. Visit the event page for full details.

Jazz Festival - May 8, 2021

The goal of the Stanislaus State Jazz Festival is to provide students and directors with a positive educational and musical experience in Jazz. Maximum interaction between students, directors, and guest clinicians will take place throughout the day, highlighted by various master classes from guest artists and clinicians as well as a performance by the Stanislaus State Jazz Ensemble with a special guest artist. Brass Day

The goal of Stanislaus State Brass Day is to provide high school and college students, as well as freelance brass players with a positive, engaging and educational experience all-encompassing the art of brass playing. Maximum interaction between guest artists and participants will take place throughout the day, highlighted by clinics and master classes, as well as an opportunity to perform with a large brass ensemble.

Central Valley Choral Festival

 

Ghiglieri Piano Competition

The Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition intends to recognize and promote the musical achievements and development of promising young pianists.  Winners will be chosen based on performances held at California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock, CA, USA.  The events of the competition will take place in the Music Building, located on the west side of the University campus at One University Circle.

Jazz Workshop

Led by the Stan State Jazz Faculty as well as regional and national artists, the Stan State Jazz Workshop focuses on the development of jazz theory, improvisation, pedagogy, and small group performance skills for students, musicians, and educators of ALL levels.
