Guitarraganza - February 27-29, 2020

THE Central Valley guitar festival! Three days of classical guitar workshops, masterclasses, concerts, the Festival Guitar Competition and guest artists Ricardo Barceló, Carlos Santi and Flamenco with Albert Marques and Bianca Rodriguez. Visit the Guitarraganza website for full details.

Attendance to observe workshops, masterclasses and the competition rounds is FREE but registration is required. Masterclass students and competitors have a fee payable with registration. Concert tickets sold separately.

Jazz Festival - March 6-7, 2020

The goal of the Stanislaus State Jazz Festival is to provide students and directors with a positive educational and musical experience in Jazz. Maximum interaction between students, directors, and guest clinicians will take place throughout the day, highlighted by various master classes from guest artists and clinicians as well as a performance by the Stanislaus State Jazz Ensemble with a special guest artist. Jazz Workshop - September 21, 2019

Led by the Stan State Jazz Faculty as well as regional and national artists, the Stan State Jazz Workshop focuses on the development of jazz theory, improvisation, pedagogy, and small group performance skills for students, musicians and educators of ALL levels. Registration now open!

Ghiglieri Piano Competition - October 26, 2019

The Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition intends to recognize and promote the musical achievements and development of promising young pianists.  Winners will be chosen based on performances held at California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock, CA, USA.  The events of the competition will take place in the Music Building, located on the west side of the University campus at One University Circle.

Brass Day - TBD

The goal of Stanislaus State Brass Day is to provide high school and college students, as well as freelance brass players with a positive, engaging and educational experience all encompassing the art of brass playing. Maximum interaction between guest artists and participants will take place throughout the day, highlighted by clinics and master classes, as well as an opportunity to perform with a large brass ensemble.
