Sustainable Procurement
The California State University Sustainability Policy requires use of suppliers and vendors who support environmentally friendly practices.
At Stan State, this has resulted in high rates of success in various areas such as custodial supplies, electronics, fleet vehicles, and paper purchasing.
- 94% of cleaning/custodial products are certified/meet sustainability standards
- 99% of electronics (computers, tablets, televisions, copiers/printer/scanners) meet EPEAT or ENERGY STAR standards
- 58% of campus fleet vehicles are 100% electric
- 76% of purchased paper contains post-consumer recycled content
Single-Use Plastics Policy
Stan State also follows the CSU Single-Use Plastics Policy by banning the use of plastic straws and bags, by eliminating the procurement and sale of single-use plastic water bottles, and by eliminating single-use polystyrene containers in dining service venues and catering.
CSU Buy Recycled Campaign
The CSU Buy Recycled Campaign demonstrates the commitment of the CSU to encourage purchasing products made of recycled content and support the State Agency Buy Recycled Campaign (SABRC).
