Will New Student Orientation be offered in person or virtually?

The Spring 2023 Transfer New Student Orientations at both the Turlock and Stockton Campus will be offered in-person on campus. The First Year/Freshman Orientation will be held virtually.  Additional information and steps on what needs to be completed prior to your orientation will be emailed to your student email two weeks prior to your scheduled orientation date. 

Do I have to attend New Student Orientation?

Yes. New Student Orientation is mandatory for all new First Year/Freshmen and Transfer students.

Will we be meeting with our advisors during orientation?

Yes, you will meet with academic advisors and faculty from your major who will provide academic advising. 


Should I make an appointment with my advisor to help me select classes?


No, you will be registering for classes at New Student Orientation.  Academic Advisors, Evaluators, Faculty, and Orientation Leaders will be available during orientation to assist you with class registration. 

When will class registration holds be released?

Class registration holds will be released during your scheduled New Student Orientation when you begin registering for classes. 

Can I change my orientation date if my scheduled date doesn't align with my availability?

In most instances we are able to accomodate your request to change your scheduled orientation date.  For further information please contact the New Student Orientation Office at or (209) 664-6757. 

Is there anything I should get done before orientation?

Yes, you will also need to complete the Pre-New Student Orientation (Titus Link) which will be emailed to your email you prior to your scheduled New Student Orientation date. 

What is the difference between a concentration and a minor?

A concentration is an area within your major that focuses on the career path you would like to take that you will be earning your degree objective in.  A minor is a specific area that you would like to gain knowledge in separate from your major.  

Can I change my major at any time throughout my college experience or during orientation?

Yes, you can change your major at any time during your college career by completing the Declaration or Change of Degree Objective Form

Where can I find my Student ID #

You can find your Student ID # (9 digit number referred to as your Warrior ID #) on your Acceptance Letter from the university. 

Do we have to be present for the entire orientation?

Yes, you must be present for the entire orientation program. 

Is there a difference between attending the Stockton Campus Orientation Transfer Orientation versus the Turlock Campus Transfer Orientation?

Yes, only Transfer students with majors represented at the Stockton Campus and who plan to take the majority of their classes at the Stockton Campus will be able to attend the Stockton Campus Orientation.  You should register to attend the Turlock Orientation if you plan to take the majority of your classes at the Main Campus in Turlock, CA. 

When will we be receiving the information for New Student Orientation, such as links?

You will be receiving further information specific to your orientation date that will be emailed to your email account  prior to your scheduled orientation date.
