An evening of wine, cheese, hors d’ oeuvres, and live and silent auctions are on tap for the Fourth Annual California State University, Stanislaus Agricultural Studies Department’s “Tastes of the Valley” wine and cheese tasting at Hilmar Cheese Company on Thursday, October 5.

California State University, Stanislaus Associated Students, Inc. Vice President Andrew Janz is one of two students in the CSU system who has been appointed by the California State Student Association (CSSA) to serve on a committee that will help structure the future of higher education.

High school seniors planning to attend college can find information on how to pay for it at a February 8 regional workshop on the California State University, Stanislaus campus in Turlock.

CSU Stanislaus will host the "Cash for College" workshop on Thursday, February 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Porges Lecture Hall (Room 166) of the Demergasso-Bava Hall complex. The University is located at 801 West Monte Vista Avenue in Turlock. Parking for Demergasso-Bava Hall is off Crowell Road at the Ansel Adams Boulevard entrance.

California State University, Stanislaus' production of the musical "Little Shop of Horrors" has been selected for participation in the 2007 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival XXXIX, Region XIII. The Regional Festival, encompassing colleges and universities in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii, Guam, and American Samoa, attracted 58 entries of which 10 have been invited to be showcased at the KCACTF Regional Festival, February 12-17, in Cedar City, Utah.

Students at Pitman and Turlock High Schools in Turlock will have the opportunity to earn college credit this spring through the California State University, Stanislaus Early College program.

Atlanta, GA (Feb. 13, 2007) - California State University, Stanislaus nabbed a bronze award for its redesigned Web site in the 22nd Annual Admissions Advertising Awards, the Admissions Marketing Report announced recently. The University distinguished itself among more than 2,100 entries from more than 1,200 colleges, universities, and secondary schools. Entries were received from institutions in all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Nominations are being accepted for the third annual Ethics in Public Service Award, a joint venture between California State University, Stanislaus and The Modesto Bee designed to recognize and reward the ethical behavior of elected officials and public service agents.

California State University, Stanislaus is ranked one of the nation's best 366 colleges, according to The Princeton Review, thereby joining an elite circle in which only two other CSU schools have ever been included (Sonoma State and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo).

The New York-based company known for its highly touted educational publications and services has for the first time selected CSU Stanislaus for inclusion in the upcoming 2008 edition of its popular annual "Best 366 Colleges" guidebook, scheduled for nationwide release in August.

California State University, Stanislaus is teaming with Turlock-headquartered MedicAlert Foundation and two major technology firms to test the use of a medical identification process designed to improve access to student health information.

The CSU Stanislaus Student Health Center is the test site for the 90-day pilot project, which got under way on March 1. Some 200 CSU Stanislaus students are expected to volunteer for participation in the program that will demonstrate the application of Radio Frequency Identification Detection (RFID) data from an identification card.

The California State University, Stanislaus Student Health Center has received official notification of a full three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This is the sixth consecutive cycle of full accreditation since 1991 when the Student Health Center first sought accreditation status.
