What: CSU Stanislaus Department of Social Work Annual Conference

The conference will feature nationally acclaimed presenter Caitlin Ryan, Ph.D., ACSW, in a program titled, “The Critical Role of Families in Preventing Suicide and Other Risks and Promoting Well-Being for LGBT Youth.”
Ryan is director of the Family Acceptance Project at San Francisco State University. She will present compelling new research on LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youth and their families, showing that families have a dramatic influence on their LGBT children’s physical health, mental health and well-being. Ryan will discuss key findings, resources and the new evidence-based family intervention approach that she and her team are developing to help ethnically and religiously diverse families support their LGBT children.
The conference meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing education credit as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences for MFTs and LCSWs (Provider Number PCE784) and the Board of Registered Nursing (Provider Number BRN13584).
