"Congratulations to the California State University, Stanislaus, students who organized a successful and safe hip-hop concert Friday night. The event came off without any of the misbehavior associated with a hyphy concert in downtown Modesto last September. The university concert was postponed from last fall at the request of law enforcement. The university students were reasonable and yet determined with this project, reflecting the attitude of the majority of young people, we think. The experience also suggested that not everything remotely connected to the word "hyphy" is negative."
