Mechanical Services

Many of the buildings on campus are controlled through a building management system (BMS). These building require special attention for control of their comfort systems and energy management systems. This task is performed by the Building Service Engineers. They can monitor and control building comfort systems from the Central Plant Control Room.

Stan State follows Executive Order 987: Which mandates building temperatures between 68° F and 78° F, which is currently what the HVAC system uses as the boundaries for heating and cooling. CPFM strongly discourages the use of personal heaters and fans, except in special cases.  They interfere with the optimization of the entire Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) for occupied spaces and impact energy efficiency efforts.

Most heating and air conditioning equipment must be scheduled to run on a specific time and day. This is accomplished through programming into one of many campus energy management systems. Most of the equipment schedules are based on a weekly room occupancy list provided to Facilities Management by Academic Events Scheduling.

If there is a classroom, lab, or office that is either too hot or too cold, please contact Customer Service Center at (209) 667-3211 or Facilities_Services@csustan.edu during normal office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For summer hours and holiday shutdown times, please refer to the campus calendar. A work order request can also be submitted for concerns regarding the heating and air conditioning system.

For questions regarding campus energy use, energy conservation and other energy related questions, contact the Customer Service Center at 209-667-3211 (x3211).

To Schedule HVAC Equipment for Events

Specific requests to schedule heating and air conditioning for events are required to follow the 25Live reservation request and approval process. Once your event has been approved, scheduling of heating and air conditioning will be adjusted accordingly.
