Application and Eligibility

Eligibility

STEM CRU interns are eligible for hourly pay of $18.20 per hour during their first two years at Stanislaus State if they start as a Freshman OR if they are a Transfer student in their first year on campus. Students who meet the following eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply:

• Students admitted to Stanislaus State as freshmen (in 1st 2 years) or first-year transfer that have a declared major in either Biology (or undeclared with a Biology interest), Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, or Physical Science.
• First-generation college student or Pell Grant-eligible

Application

New applicants can apply for STEM CRU anytime throughout the year, but the hiring is most active in the month prior to each semester. Returning STEM CRU interns do not need to reapply each semester. However, they should have their faculty mentors confirm the continued collaboration with STEM CRU staff, and students will need to wait for their offer letter to continue with the paid internship.

We are now accepting applications for Spring 2026. Review of applications will begin in December, 2025.
