Sculpture courses expose students to a diverse range of tools and processes that service artistic expression in three and four dimensions. These include metal, wood, clay, plaster, found materials or objects, 3D printing and other computer numerical control (CNC) processes for digital fabrication techniques. Students are encouraged to explore materials independently and in combination with each other. This variety of tools and processes are generated in tandem with the range of meanings important to the student in the creation of art as visual communication tool through performance, unique objects, or in installations.

Courses taught in the Sculpture Area include:

ART 1200 Foundation Sculpture, ART 3300 Multi-Media: Assemblages and Construction, ART 3320 Carving, ART 3330 Metal Casting, ART 3340 Figure Sculpture, ART 3350 Ceramic Sculpture, ART 3360 Construction Sculpture, ART 3370 Sculpture in Context, ART 3380 Public Sculpture, ART 3615 Consumer Objects: Mold Making and Casting Art, ART 3714 3-D Digital Modeling and Rendering, ART 3830 Visual Art and Ecology, ART 4970 New Genre Art
