Meet The Board
The University Student Center Board of Directors is the governing board of the University Student Center. The purpose of the Board is to develop policies and procedures for the effective conduct and management of the University Student Center programs, facilities and services. This Board promotes services and events that enhance the student experience by advising in matters related to the University Student Center.
The University Student Center Board of Directors has fifteen voting members including:
- SC Board Chair
- SC Vice Chair
- SC Vice Chair of Finance
- 6 Student Directors
- 1 Faculty Representative
- 1 Alumni Representative
- 1 designee of the University President
- 1 Business & Finance Representative
- 1 outside Community Representative
- 1 Associated Students Inc. (ASI) representative
The members of the Board of Directors are selected for the academic year, and all student seats become vacant at the end of each year. Students currently serving on the Board must submit an application to be considered for another term.

SC Board Sponsored Events
The University Board of Directors hosts several sponsored events each semester to welcome students, promote the University Student Center, and celebrate students! See the events below which highlight semesterly or yearly events!
Each semester, the SC Board of Directors collaborates with ASI Student Government to serve coffee and pancakes for students returning to classes in the Fall and Spring semesters. This has become a semesterly tradition for the ASI & SC student leaders!

SC Chair's Message
Hello Warriors!
My name is Jelaine Esguerra, and I am honored to serve a third term as Chair of the University Student Center Board of Directors this year. As a student at Stan State, I know how important it is to have spaces where you feel welcomed, supported, and connected. The University Student Center serves as the hub of campus life, where students can come together to engage, empower, and inspire one another. Through its facilities, programs, and services, the University Student Center is committed to enhancing the student experience and creating opportunities for students to build community and make lasting memories.
It is a privilege to work alongside a dedicated team of student leaders and staff who advocate for the needs of our Turlock and Stockton campus communities. This year's Student Center Executive Team includes myself as Chair, Manny Delgadillo, Vice Chair, and Melanie Ovrahim, Vice Chair of Finance. Together, we are excited to continue working on initiatives that improve the student experience and ensure the University Student Center remains a place where students feel supported and heard.
When I first joined the SC Board, I was looking for a way to make a difference on campus. Three terms later, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue advocating for students, listening to their needs, and helping create a campus where everyone feels they belong. Serving on the Board has allowed me to advocate for students, listen to their needs, and work alongside others to create positive change.
I encourage you to make the most of your time at Stan State. Attend events, join organizations, grow your connections, and take advantage of the many resources available to you. College is about more than earning a degree; it's about building experiences, relationships, and memories that will stay with you long after you graduate.
I look forward to another year of listening, learning, and working together to make the University Student Center a place where every Warrior feels welcomed and supported.
