At Stan State, we believe our greatest strength lies in our diversity. We are proud to introduce the Presidential Diversity Celebration Series, an initiative celebrating the rich cultural, linguistic and aspirational contributions of our diverse campus community and the broader Central Valley. Aligned with national observance months, this series will feature renowned performers, speakers and guests, offering opportunities for students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to connect with national thought leaders and diverse role models.
Through these events, we aim to promote equity, access and meaningful dialogue on diversity and social justice while fostering cultural understanding and building a more inclusive future.
Our Vision and Goals
The Diversity Celebration Series is more than a series of events; it’s a commitment to community building, collaboration and shared growth. When Stan State thrives, the Central Valley thrives. These events will provide a unique platform for meaningful conversations, cultural enrichment and community engagement, all aimed at strengthening our collective efforts toward equity and inclusion. Our key goals include:
- Enhancing Community Engagement and Cultural Awareness - Foster appreciation for the Central Valley’s rich cultural heritage by bringing together diverse community segments and promoting dialogue on equity and inclusive excellence.
- Promoting Equity and Inclusion - Create opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds to engage with national thought leaders and diverse role models, ensuring an inclusive environment where everyone’s contributions are valued.
- Strengthening Stan State’s Role as a Community Resource - Position Stan State as a hub for dialogue on diversity, equity, and social justice by offering public events that provide educational and cultural value, thereby deepening connections with the surrounding communities.
Join us in celebrating our community's vibrant diversity and working together to create a future where everyone is seen, heard and valued.
