Guiding Alumni and First-Generation in Mentoring and Science Excellence
The College of Science invites you to participate in a groundbreaking initiative designed to support your academic and personal success here at Stan State. As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, we are launching a new mentorship program specifically for second year, first-generation students in the College of Science (COS), namely the Guiding ALumni And irst-gen in mentoring and science eXcEllence (GALAX-E) Program.
GALAX-E will involve the pairing of first-generation COS alumni from an array of fields with first-generation, second-year COS students with similar interests. By participating in GALAX-E, student mentees will gain insight on achievement techniques and tools to overcome obstacles, while working towards their career goals with guidance from their alumni mentors.
