Are you in need of financial assistance?

Our Emergency Grant program is designed to provide assistance to enrolled Stanislaus State students who are experiencing a personal crisis or an emergency situation. Qualified students receive assistance in the form of single, one-time awards. Emergency funding is not intended to provide ongoing relief for recurring expenses, and awards are not loans that students are expected to repay. The value of the award will range in response to the needs of the student and the availability of funding.

General Eligibility

  • Currently experiencing a personal crisis or emergency situation.
  • Exhausted all financial aid, grant and/or loan eligibility.
  • Currently enrolled in classes at Stanislaus State.

Each funding source may have a different or additional eligibility criteria. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Emergency grants cannot be utilized to assist with tuition balances. If you have questions or concerns about how to address tuition balances, we encourage you to contact Student Financial Services 209-667-3063 for past due balances or Cashier's 209-667-3406 to explore a payment plan for current term balances. Students are encouraged to reach out to Basic Needs if they are experiencing a personal crisis or an emergent situation involving housing or financial concerns.

What to Expect

Once your application is received, you will be contacted by a member of the Basic Needs team via email and/or phone with a request to make an appointment to discuss your application further. Students who are deemed eligible will need to meet with a member of the Basic Needs team. Please note that the total process could take up to two to four weeks. More information will be provided at the time of approval. If your application is not approved, you will be called or emailed with the update.

These awards are coordinated with Financial Aid and may cause a student to be over-awarded, requiring a Cost of Attendance appeal or reduction in other aid. Please visit the Professional Judgement webpage for additional information on Cost of Attendance appeals and other Professional Judgement forms.

Submitting Documentation

Documentation is helpful in evaluating your request for assistance. Please include any Financial Aid information, notices to Pay or Quit, shut off notices, past due balances, lease information, eviction notices, etc. that you may have.
