Elizabeth Monroe is a central valley native with a passion for helping students navigate higher education. As a transfer student herself, Elizabeth understands the unique challenges faced by our valley students. She began her educational journey at Modesto Junior College and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. She then attended Stanislaus State to earn a Pupil Personnel Services Credential. After working as a high school counselor in San Diego, Elizabeth eventually returned to the central valley and began working with transfer populations as part of UC Merced’s Admissions Office. Over her years with UC Merced, she served as Lead Transfer Evaluator and most recently as the campus’ Articulation Officer. If you are a transfer student considering Stanislaus State in the Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Math, or Physics majors, please feel free to reach out to Elizabeth to explore the exciting opportunities and services we offer through the ASPIRE program.

Meet Our Peer Mentors:

Analisa, a SMART Peer Mentor

My name is Analisa Coppens, and I am one of the SMART transfer peer mentors. I am from Modesto, California, where I attended Modesto Junior College, taking my general education courses. After transferring, I declared my major in Biology with a concentration in Organismal, Ecology, and Evolution. My long-term goal is to attend optometry school after graduation. A fun fact about me is that I have a twin brother who is only one minute older than I am!

Marco Ceja

My name is Marco Ceja, and I'm working as one of the SMART transfer peer mentors. I am originally from Stockton, California, where I attended San Joaquin Delta College. I was originally studying Civil Engineering, but I switched to Chemistry, with a concentration in Biochemistry, when I transferred to Stan State in 2022. I am considering attending grad school for Biochemistry or for Chemical Engineering. I enjoy coffee, animals, and dark chocolate.
