Credential Application Procedures Following Completion 

Candidates must successfully complete all required credential coursework, all the cycles of the California Administrator Performance Assessment, and have 5 years of experience as a teaching or counseling in a school setting. 

Step 1 

Submit your completed Credential Application for On-Line Recommendation Form to Credential Services. Email all documents below to credentials@csustan.edu. Be sure to cc’ your program coordinator ajohnson57@csustan.edu. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL THIS APPLICATION DIRECTLY TO CCTC. Documents to submit: 

CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY: (acts as a placeholder until you receive a formal job offer) 

1) Credential Application for Online Recommendation Form – Select “Certificate of Eligibility” (linked HERE)

2) Sample Letter: Verification of Teaching/Counseling Experience (example linked HERE)

OR

PRELIMINARY ADMINISTRTIVE SERVICES CREDENTIAL: (only if you have received a formal job offer!)

3) Verification of Employment as an Administrator (linked HERE

*If you receive a formal job offer, you will need to select Preliminary --> Administrative Services on the Credential Application and also submit a Verification of Employment form (linked HERE). 

Step 2 

You will be notified via email from CCTC to complete the personal and professional fitness questionnaire and payment portions of the process. The Subject line on this email is “CTC Notice - Recommendation for New Document.” You need to follow the instructions on this email to complete the process and submit payment. View CCTC’s “Quick Tips”. The credential fee is $102.65 unless you have a credit for a Certificate of Clearance. A debit/credit card for payment is required. Be sure to go to the CTC website and log-in to update your personal and contact information. 

Step 3 

After you complete this process CCTC will send you a second e-mail with a Subject line “CTC Application Received Email.” 

Step 4 

CCTC’s last email is “Notification of Document Issuance.” This provides the details of your credential and will contain a link where the online official record of your document may be viewed and printed by you. You can print and present a copy of this credential to your school district or County Office of Education. You can also attach this credential to your Ed-Join application for employment purposes. CCTC will no longer print out and mail official credential documents. 

 

Notes: 

* If you do not anticipate accepting or applying for an administrative position in the near future, you should apply for a "Certificate of Eligibility" instead of the actual credential document. The "Certificate" verifies that you are academically qualified for the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and carries NO expiration date. When you accept employment as an administrator, simply apply for the 5-year Preliminary Administrative Services Credential through the Stanislaus State Credentials Office.
