Application Procedures

STEP 1 

For admission to the University, submit the University application and fee online at Cal State Apply. Please send your official transcripts from each college or university previously attended to the Graduate School office. (We do not need an official transcript for coursework completed through Stanislaus State.) For more information regarding University admission contact the Graduate School at (209) 667-3129 or email at Graduate_School@csustan.edu. 

Instructions for Cal State Online Application

• To apply for the Credential only pathway, please select the: "Administrative Services Credential (Credential Only)" option
• To apply for the MA in School Administration, with the credential pathway, please select the: "School Administration (with Administrative Services Credential)" option

Please have the following documents ready to attach to your CalState Application:

1. Copy of valid California Credential (showing expiration date).
2. One letter of sponsorship from a school, district, or county administrator. Example letter (PDF)
3. Verification of at least two years of full-time certificated experience (requirement may be waived by the School Administration Program Coordinator). Verification of experience may be included in the sponsorship letter. 

Criteria for acceptance: 

1. Having an acceptable baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; 
2. Being in good academic standing at the last college or university attended; 
3. Having a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) attempted; 
4. Satisfactorily meeting the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study; and
5. Currently employed at a school district and hold one of the following credentials:
   • Preliminary or clear teaching credential
   • Pupil personnel services counseling credential
   • Teacher librarian services credential
   • Speech-language pathology services credential
   • Clinical or rehabilitative services credential
   • School nurse services credential
   • Valid California license to practice occupational therapy issued by California Board of Occupational Therapy/ Physical Therapy Board of California

STEP 2 

Apply for admission to the Credential and/or MA Program. 

Mail the following items to Stanislaus State, Advanced Studies (One University Circle, DBH 348):

• Download and complete the program Printable Application (PDF)-Please only list the last 4 digits of your social if you do not have a student ID.
• Submit your program application and application fee ($25)- You may choose either submission below:
  • Bring this application to Cashier Services (MSR 100) to pay the application fee. Please make checks payable to "Stanislaus State" and include the student’s name and student ID number on the check. You may submit your program application and the receipt of payment directly to our office dropbox at DBH 348. OR
  • You may mail in your program application and application fee ($25 check): Please make checks payable to "Stanislaus State" and include the student’s name and student ID number on the check.
  • The mailing address is:

Students must maintain a 3.0 average or better on all coursework in order to continue with the program.
