STEP 1 

For admission to the University, submit the University application and fee online at CALSTATE.EDU/APPLY. Please send your official transcripts from each college or university previously attended to the Graduate School office. For more information regarding University admission contact the Graduate School at (209) 667-3129 or email at Graduate_School@csustan.edu. 

Criteria for acceptance: 

  1. having an acceptable baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; 
  2. being in good academic standing at the last college or university attended; 
  3. having a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) attempted; 
  4. satisfactorily meeting the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study; and
  5. currently employed at a local school district and hold one of the following credentials: preliminary or clear teaching credential, pupil personnel services counseling credential, credential, teacher librarian services credential. 

STEP 2 

Apply for admission to the Credential and/or MA Program. 

Email the following items to advancedstudies@csustan.edu:

  • Copy of valid California Credential (showing expiration date).
  • One letter of sponsorship from a school, district, or county administrator. Example
  • Verification of at least two years of full-time certificated experience (requirement may be waived by the School Administration Program Coordinator). Verification of experience may be included in the sponsorship letter. 

Mail the following items to CSU Stanislaus, Advanced Studies (One University Circle, DBH 348):

  • Program application Printable Application (PDF)
  • Application Fee ($25): Make payment at the Cashier's office and email a copy of your receipt (Use Cashier's Code PST 286). OR mail a $25 check made payable to CSU Stanislaus.

Students must maintain a 3.0 average or better on all coursework in order to continue with the program.
