“As a proud first-generation and former transfer student, I have dedicated over 15 years to supporting students in higher education. With degrees in History and Geography, I bring both academic insight and personal experience to my role as Advisor for Promise Scholars and Project Rebound at Stanislaus State. I am passionate about helping students navigate their educational paths, focusing on degree completion, career development, and preparation for graduate studies. Drawing from my own journey in higher education, I am deeply committed to empowering students to achieve their goals and build meaningful futures. Missy Lebray
Program Coordinator
“My journey to this work is both professional and deeply personal. I am in long-term recovery, and that journey has shaped who I am as a leader and advocate. What once felt like personal struggles became a calling to serve others. I’ve had the privilege of helping create restorative, person-centered spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered.
With a background in Sociology and Public Administration, I’ve always been passionate about understanding how systems shape our lives and how we can work together to change them for the better. I believe deeply that we are more than our worst mistakes and more than the labels placed on us.
I’ve supported students in navigating complex systems, meeting essential needs, and reconnecting to their strengths. I see my role as a bridge-builder who connects students to resources, opportunities, and a sense of belonging. When people are supported holistically and authentically, they don’t just persist — they thrive.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my spouse and kids, doing Alternative to Violence Project Workshops, and working out.”
Ashley Mansfield
Retention Coordinator
“My name is Ashley Mansfield, and I serve as the Retention Coordinator at Stanislaus State, where I have the privilege of working closely with Project Rebound students as they navigate their return to higher education. My advising approach is rooted in advocacy, clarity, and partnership. I help students untangle policies, rebuild academic standing, navigate financial aid, and create realistic plans toward graduation. I truly believe there is no challenge too big or situation too complicated for us to work through together. Whether you are facing academic setbacks, life transitions, or institutional barriers, you will not have to figure it out alone. My role is to walk beside you, translate the system, and help you move forward with confidence. Your story does not end with a setback, and together, we will build a path toward your goals.”
