Welcoming Students into the Course

Making it clear to students what they need to do to get ready for your course is a great practice to follow. Create a Module containing a welcome message and instructions for getting started.

Accessing Canvas

Canvas can be accessed from the university self-service portal.  Login and click the Canvas icon.

External users (someone not officially affiliated with Stan State) may be added to academic LMS courses at the discretion of the instructor.  However, the instructor must first request that an LMS account be created for an external user using the LMS External Account Request form. This will allow the user to be added to a course and login to the LMS.

This page articulates various protocols for how Canvas is used and deployed at Stan State.  These protocols are in a constant state of development, but they are created through collaboration between the Office of Academic Technology and the Academic Technology and Learning Committee.
