As a California State University (CSU) employee, your paycheck/direct deposit advice and annual W-2 are issued (hard copy) by the State Controller’s Office (SCO). These hard copy documents have been the only means made available to you by the SCO as a record of your earnings until now.

Payroll is responsible for requesting and auditing all state paychecks for faculty, staff and student employees in accordance with The State Controller's Office and CSU policies and procedures. Payroll also maintains leave balances.

Generally, full-time or part-time Faculty, Staff and Administrators (MPP) may be granted full or partial leaves of absence with and without pay, depending on the circumstances and duration of the leave request.

Dependent Eligibility Verification (DEV) is the process of verifying the eligibility of your spouse, domestic partner, children, stepchildren, and domestic partner children (family members) enrolled for state health and dental benefits enrollment. Government Code section 22843.1 mandates that you verify the eligibility of your family members. Government Code section 22959 authorizes the review of your family members' dental benefits enrollment.
